Anytime, well sort of. December through February is the high season. It’s our spring, not too hot, not too rainy, just right. Truth be told here in Samara which is located in Guanacaste the temperature rarely drops below 80* Fahrenheit.
December through February are also the most expensive times to visit. It’s a wonderful time to be here. Christmas is celebrated with enthusiasm and most businesses and government are closed as everyone enjoys the holidays. The festivities are abundant and there is live music every night.
Once you near the end of February the temperature starts to rise, so if you don’t mind the warmer temps you will start to see more availability in rentals and a softer price point.
We call it Dry July-most of July and first of August we get a break in the rain. (Rainy season begins in May). This is a lovely time of year as the dry season (hot) is behind us and we have had a bit of rain, everything is green again and it’s a bit more comfortable temperature.
It rains all of October as a norm, so if that is your thing it’s all good. A lot of the restaurants in the smaller towns along the beach will typically be closed for the month to clean and repair for the coming season. The jungle is alive with foliage and the sunsets are beautiful.
Now-if you want the best bang for your buck the first 3 weeks of November are a wonderful time. You will get some rainy days and some sunshine. The temperature will be typically in the low to mid 80’s. High season pricing hasn’t kicked off and the restaurants and bars are open for business. Everyone is fresh and ready for a new season.
Whenever you come, bring your thirst for adventure and comfortable shoes!
See you on the beach!
